The Language of Myria

ANTI-BOLIBA: Substance placed in small amounts over and in most immobile objects around certain civilized zones of Myria. Its repulsion of Boliba enables its use as a levitating agent.
AR: The people of. E.g. Ar Dakar, the people of Dakar.
ASCALIA: Southern most continent of Myria. Ascalia is completely covered in snow and ice, and occupies the southern pole of Myria. There are some small colonies within it, but few, and of no dominant race. Refered to as “the ice continent”.
AURORA: A mysterious force that surrounds Myria put in place by Foo Foo Fumpus. Its power enables the Ja to do their magic, and is the heart of many outsiders’ ambition to take over Myria. Tales tell of the center of the Aurora being a flurry of colour and magnificence, which is why the name Aurora is used to describe it. See Ja.
AVANAR: Ja word meaning master. Linked to ancient Ja word Avanan, meaning the place where the master dwells.

BABUJA: Second largest continent of Myria. It is divided into three provinces: Babuja Norla, Babuja Ulmus and Babuja Galga. Mostly covered in rainforest, rivers and mountains, Babuja is the home of the Babuks, and is referred to as “the peaceful continent”. Pronounced Bubb-oo-jar. See Babuks.
BABUKS: Pale-green inhabitants of Babuja. They are known for their skills in battle, and wooden houses in the forests of their continent. It is said that they were the first inhabitants of Myria. Pronounced Bubb-ook. See Babuja.
BOLIBA: Substance used for levitation in most known civilized areas. Strongly repelled by anti-boliba. See Anti-Boliba.
BULBUS: Native tree of Babuja, found only in Babuja Galga (East).
BURKLE: A form of creeper, known for its strong similarity of scent to lavender and for its blunt thorns.

EARTHER: Citizen of Myria that has migrated from the planet Earth. These people are often stereotyped as naïve to the workings of the galaxy, and as people of little intelligence. All humans on Myria are or are descendants of Earthers.

GAN: Name prefix, used as a sign of respect. Its most common synonym in Standard English is sir.

HOLOPHONE: The main form of long distance communication on Myria. Functions by displaying a hologram of the environment within a one meter radius of the other holophone, and duplicates the sound created within that zone.
HYDRAKKIS: The largest continent of Myria. Inhabited by an unknown race, notably named Hydraks from the exterior population, not much has been learned about Hydrakis, but that it is riddled with mountains, and filled with monsters. Referred to as “the unknown continent”.

IZEDOIDS: The imperial minions of Foo Foo Fumpus. They enforce the law set out by Foo Foo Fumpus regarding many aspects of life on Myria. They could possibly be referred to as the Myrian police. They are seldom, but sometimes used in planetary defense.
IZONIA: The imperial continent of Myria. It is mostly an island of lifeless mountains and endless thunder storms, but for Fumpus, the crystal city at its center, where lives Foo Foo Fumpus, the ruler over the whole planet of Myria. Referred to as “the royal continent”.

JA: The people of the Aurora. They spend their life training in the art of using the Aurora to their will. Comprised of mostly humans, the Ja keep their motives to themselves, and live in societies with a culture of their own. Pronounced jar. See Aurora.

LEVICHAIR: Any form of sitting apparatus suspended in the air by boliba. See Boliba.
LOZION: Derived from the Ja word Lozi, meaning Beautiful, it is a rare flower that requires little sun but much water. The official flower of Norlanta.

NEW ENGLISH: The language of Norlanta. Said to be very similar to the old English of the Norlantian humans’ lineage on Earth.
NORLANTA: The archipelago continent of Myria. It has 48 inhabited islands, occupied mostly by humans. Probably the most diverse continent, Norlanta has the highest known population of any Myrian continents. Commonly referred to as “the busy continent”.

RARZAR SERUM: A bright red liquid said to prevent an individual from lying. May cause the consumer to do whatever they wish without second thought, and leaves them suspect to obeying any order given to them. Highly illegal in Norlanta.
RETALICA: Said to be a continent of Myria equally smallest in size with Izonia. Ruled over by a mysterious leader, Retalica is the continent delegated to the defense of Myria. It is also said that Retalica is completely inhabited by machines and robots, built all under the guidance of their ruler. Referred to as “the machine continent”.
ROCKERAID: Although more dangerous and foreboding than Hydrakis, some information has been learnt about Rockeraid. It is connected to Hydrakis by a very small land mass, and is considerably smaller than it. Explorers have made reports of dinosaurs, dragons and various, hideous monsters living there, making it impossible to discover any more. Its diverse, natural landscape is known as the place the Ja go to train. Never do they reveal anything about their time spent there. Referred to as “the monster continent”.

SKYCO: A leading brand of flight vehicles in Norlanta.
SKYSKIPPER: One of Skyco’s light high speed air crafts. It uses teleportation to move the air around it quickly, keeping it airborne. See Skyco.
SQUILL: A sea-dwelling creature said to live in the waters of Norlanta and Babuja. Much like a Dolphin, but slimmer and faster.

TIKE: The political leader of Norlanta. Traditionally, the Tike is also the elected mayor of Norlanta’s capital: Sip.
